SummaryThe Director of Engineering, a member of the Executive Team and ranking technical expert, is responsible to research process, product and capability improvements to support current and future customer opportunities. Through discovery and coaching, the Director of Engineering uses industry knowledge and a wealth of experience to support, direct and train our engineering team members, bringing in a new crop of subject matter experts. The Director of Engineering promotes a culture of entrepreneurialism, problem solving and decision making.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Application Engineering - Leads and directs application engineering team with input from sales opportunities and industry trends. Supports the qualifying and quoting of new opportunities, and when required, launching such capabilities within manufacturing. Owns the development and maintenance of ABT’s technology roadmap, through identification and research of industry processes and technology, to ensure future capabilities and align resource allocation between all shareholders. Participates in new equipment research and recommendations to support current capabilities and technology roadmap (supports, but not leading, new equipment implementation). Design Engineering - Directly supervises design engineers to support fixture design, obsolescence, mechanical & electrical stack up analysis, and other activities to support internal and external customers. Subject Matter Expert – ABT’s structure requires our teams to have subject matter experts at all locations to be empowered to make decisions. The Director of Engineering is responsible for the continued education of our experts through a formal Technical Advisory Board. Serves as a high-level subject matter expert, giving guidance to those involved in root cause problem solving. SummaryThe Director of Operations provides leadership to the Operations functions including Production, Planning, Purchasing, Machine Shop and Materials/Logistics for all ABT facilities. The Director of Operations reports to the General Manager and is a member of the Executive Management Team. The Director of Operations is directly responsible for executing all operational goals with an emphasis on continuous improvement, cost reductions and improving customer service levels.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage and provide leadership to Operations,Planning and Materials at each facility. Develop a strong and effective Operations team. Provide positive and objective coaching/mentorship of team members. Implement an optimal organizational structure to grow and support the business. Ensure that reporting departments have appropriate resources and are managed to fulfill responsibilities. Focus on results; coordinate and drive all locations to achieve monthly revenue budget. Deliver on targets for key performance metrics including quality, productivity, cost and delivery. Promote and drive compliance to all standard operating procedures. Drive superior customer service (on-time delivery and responsiveness). Promote a culture of continuous improvement through the application of lean manufacturing, Six-Sigma and other appropriate techniques. Support environmental, health and safety philosophies and processes that reduce workplace injuries and environmental impact. Plan for and recommend necessary resources to ensure success, including capital equipment, trained employees, appropriate facilities, effective infrastructure and materials.
